SUGGESTED BIDS - "Suggested Bids" are used where cataloging a collection
would prove too time consuming or where unusual specialty items are
present. Such "Suggested Bids" represent our estimate of the fair
wholesale value of a lot, usually between 10% & 20% of catalog.
START BIDS - This is the price at which a lot would open as of this morning.
Start bids frequently change as a result of additional bids, cancellation of
bids, change in instructions on owner's reserves and the execution of
"limited" or "or" bids at sale time. Start bids are frequently lowered at the
time of the sale.
"LIMITED" & "OR" BIDS - Bidders may maximize their bidding efficiency by
using either "limited" or "or' bids. A customer may limit
his bid sheet by writing at the bottom: "Please limit my
purchases to (a specified amount)". This allows the bidder
to bid on as many lots that may be of interest to him but not
to exceed his collecting budget. "Or" bids are where a
collector may bid on any number of similar lots and be
assured that they will only get one. Simply write "or"
between the bids and the amount that you are prepared to bid.
AUCTION RESULTS - You may obtain the auction results starting 12 noon
following the day of the auction via our computerized Phone Bid
