ALAN BLAIR Sale - 125

Fairfax VA - February 19, 2010

AUCTION 125 has been POSTPONED due to the practically certain probability of 20-25"+ snow falling in the Fairfax VA (Washington DC area) tomorrow Feb 5 through Saturday Feb. 6. The Fairfax Stampfest has also been postponed. The auction will be held Friday, Feb. 19 at 6:30pm in the Richmond VA area. Current bids will be continued to be received until the new cut-off date and time of Thursday Feb. 18, 2pm. The auction will be held at the Clarion Hotel, 5203 Williamsburg Rd, Sandston, VA, 23150.

Welcome to Auction #125. Once again, we have a huge outpouring of lots; 1094 total. Practically all collecting areas are represented. Take a look at your favorite area(s) and see what you can find. U.S area is the most prominent. Highlights include such diversities as an excellent $4 Columbian, a scarce LOX8f Post Office seal, VF-XF cut squares, and two blocks with private perfs not listed in Scott but discussed in Belasco (p. 197). Over 135 lots of Canada and Provinces are present. Quality of these is overall quite high including a VF NH $3 Jubilee and a spectacular Newfoundland 5c brown seal, unused and VF centering. Many Michel listed German Plebiscite area varieties are here. Also, we have a wide selection of covers, collections and accumulations for you to think about. Try a few bids and see what you can do.

Bid in confidence. I am a life member of the APS(#05285) and have held the ASDA's Qualified rating since the inception of the program. We are a member of the Richmond area B.B.B. Our firm has been holding Public Auctions since 1984 and have been placing them on SAN since 1996.

There is a buyer's commission of only 10% added to each lot. All Virginia residents and auction attendees must pay the Virginia sales tax of 5% unless they have a valid re-sale number on file with us. Actual shipping charges will be added to the bill for all shipped lots; not some nebulous "shipping and handling" amount.

This auction is being held in conjunction with Jack Ott's "Stampfest" show in Fairfax VA that weekend with 30+ dealers. Come, look at auction lots and check out what the many dealers have to offer.

PLEASE NOTE!!!! We cannot accept bids from SAN, e-mail, phone, fax or snail mail after 1pm on Friday, Feb. 5. Late bidders are encouraged to use the Auction Agent's services. His name is Rudy Roy. His postal address is PO Box 5367, Va. Beach, VA, 23471-5234, phone is 757-499-5234 and e-mail address is RRoyPerfin@aol.com.

One final note: If you have extra philatelic/numismatic material (we also run numismatic lots) you have been thinking of disposing of, please contact us and we will be glad to discuss what you have.
