Catalog at StampAuctionNetwork Online Images Available Public Auction US Material Worldwide Material Postal History Found in SAN Search Engine Status International - Worldwide Public Auction - May 12, 2016 Auction 323 once again is a massive auction with 6,081 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. Items range from $30 to $100,000 so there's something for everybody.

This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections. There are almost 200 lots of Australian Collections (Lots 61-254) and well over 250 lots of World collections (Lots 255-520). Following on there is almost 1500 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (Lots 525-1989). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a First Watermark £2 Black & rose. Superb fresh MLH, unusually W/C. SG 16 cat £6500+. ACSC 55A cat $10,000+, while retail for such w/c would be $15,000+. One of the nicest examples on the market. Rare so nice.(Lot 558).

There are almost 4,100 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (Lots 1990-6081) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by a Mauritius 1848 QV "Post Paid" 2d indigo-blue on greyish/bluish paper, EARLIEST IMPRESSION (position 10). Superb UN, 4 margins from small to very large, amazing deep colour. SG 4 cat £65,000++ & undercatalogued as only tiny number of unused earliest impressions exist. Another example (with 4 even margins) was sold in Europe in September 2015 for €150,000+ = A$230,000+! Very important classic stamp - as no unused examples of the "Post Office" issue remain in private hands, so the "Post Paid" earliest impressions are in effect the 1st stamps for a serious unused collection of Mauritius. Beautiful example of this classic rarity - provenance is the famous Ferrary collection - this was lot 80 of 1st auction of June 1921, 2014 Brandon photo-cert(Lot 4822). Good range of China. Numerous other European and Asian rarities as well. Dynamic Internet Bidding at StampAuctionNetwork.

Catalog at StampAuctionNetwork Online Images Available Public Auction with LIVE Internet Bidding US Material Worldwide Material Postal History Found in SAN Search Engine Christoph Gärtner Philatelic - Public Auction NY2016 - Worldwide Rarities - May 30, 2016 Exactly 50 years ago, on May 12, 1966, the Queen Mary, a Royal Mail ship, left the ports of Southampton and Cherbourg. She was westward bound, heading for New York City, with countless guests on board on their way to the Sixth International Philatelic Exhibition (SIPEX) in Washington D.C.

Many famous European philatelists was on board, among them Dr Ferdinand Wallner, Giulio Bolaffi, Sir John Wilson (Curator of the Royal Philatelic Collection) and Ronald Lee, to name but a few. These names might still ring a bell with younger philatelists, too. This was no ordinary trip, however: After all, the doyens of the trade, Robson Lowe – in the company of his daughter Annabelle – Anke Slottke and Adriano Landini held the “First Trans-Atlantic International Philatelic Radio Auction” on board the Queen Mary on 16th May. It did not go quite as smoothly as hoped, as the phone connections to London and NY were cut off several times. All in all, this auction was a great success, though, and brilliant advertisement for philately as a whole.

50 years on, Christoph Gärtner Auction House team will make their way to the World Stamp Show New York 2016 as one of the official auctioneers – albeit on a plane. There will be no auctions above the clouds, but as early as on May 30, first-class stamps and postal history will be auctioned off at the Javits Center. The team will be bringing with them the finest of philately, presented in two auction catalogues.

We are pleased to offer LIVE BIDDING through StampAuctionNetwork for the first time during this sale at NY2016!

Catalog at StampAuctionNetwork Online Images Available Public Auction US Material Worldwide Material Postal History Found in SAN Search Engine Eastern Auctions Ltd. - Public Auction - June 17-18, 2016 Our next sale is easily our most voluminous ever. The first two hundred lots are loaded with very comprehensive collections ranging from highly specialized and esoteric to well filled modern era mint NH country collections. Despite often high catalogue values, our estimates are conservative as usual.

British North America and Canada show an abundance of choice classics, rarely seen stamps, errors and mint multiples. Overall quality is remarkable and superior to that normally encountered - from exhibition caliber single stamps to valuable entire collections. Truly outstanding stamps are always very difficult to find. Collectors seeking only the best should note that this auction boasts the highest concentration of superb quality stamps of the Victorian era that we have had the pleasure to offer since our famous "Crossings" sale in 2010. Many years of experience and exposure to Canadian stamps have allowed us to accurately describe such stamps, with useful insight on rarity, colour, centering and gum when appropriate.

We are also pleased to offer two specialized postal history exhibits - Red River Settlement by Don Fraser and Montreal advertising covers of the Victorian era by Robert Pinet. Our ever popular large lots and collections section concludes the sale and no doubt will be highly contested once again, with many intact collections, bulk lots and estates. Once again we encourage viewing these lots in person to see for yourself the comprehensive nature and value versus estimate. Dynamic Internet Bidding at StampAuctionNetwork.
