Catalog at StampAuctionNetwork Online Images Available Public Auction Worldwide Material Postal History Found in SAN Search Engine Kelleher & Rogers Ltd. - Spring 2015 Sale - May 22-24, 2015 Welcome one and all to the Kelleher & Rogers Spring Auctions. This sale brings the added excitement of the "Lady Cotswolds Find", consisting of the recently found three large multiples of the rare 1882 5 candarins Large Dragon, wide margin setting, in addition to other issues of the period. Although this find has created much interest and excitement throughout the philatelic world, there are numerous other sections within this sale which must rank among the finest we have offered.
The Treaty Port section is highlighted by an exceptional range of the Shanghai Large Dragon issues. Three items in particular standouts, including a spectacular quality example of the ultra-rare 3Ca laid paper issue, printing 37, in a superb quality mint example are being offered. This great rarity ranks among the rarest stamps in all of China, with about 4 mint copies believed to exist. Also noted are choice examples of the 2Ca laid paper on watermarked paper, and a beautiful and rare 1Ca on piece, with a magnificent strike of the rare "Ningpo" garter cancel.

Taiwan promises to be a very exciting section, beginning with a pristine example of the unissued, non-denominated Flying Geese issue. The example offered within represents one of the finest of the 6-7 copies extant.

The People’s Republic of China section, which is quite exceptional, begins with a wonderful group of Liberated issues from rare early issues through a lovely postal history offering, through excellent Unified issues, which largely comes from the properties of two families.

Mr. I-Chiu was a remarkable collector, enjoying the pursuit of assembling his fine collections over a 30 year period.

In addition, be sure to note the wonderful Imperial China offerings, which include 2 spectacular and important Large Dragon covers, along with additional premium highlights from a variety of collectors. We also note a lovely Straits Settlements section of marine covers, as well as exceptional Japan from a prominent U.S. collector. Dynamic Internet Bidding at StampAuctionNetwork.

Catalog at StampAuctionNetwork Online Images Available Public Auction with LIVE Internet Bidding US Material Worldwide Material Postal History Found in SAN Search Engine Sparks Auctions - Sparks Auction #17 - May 26-28, 2015 Our Canada section has wonderful offerings: a real jumbo of a beaver, a never-hinged half penny, an exceptional used block of the 1864 two cent Victoria, a mint block of the three cent Large Queen with original gum, lovely quality never hinged late Victorian issues including high value Jubilees. The classic-era stamps continue with the very rare imperforate imprint blocks of 20 of the Victorian Numerals together with a large offering of imprint regular issues, some wonderful quality scarce Die and shade variety Admirals, the 1929 Parliament which is especially elusive in XFNH quality, scarce imperforates and printing errors. For rarity it is hard to beat the items from the estate of Canadian stamp designer Pierre Beaudin, a number of lots being unique, and rarity continues into the airmails with pre-production material.

British Columbia has an amazing collection of the numeral cancels together with items like a mint block of the five cent Vancouver Island. Our East Coast is represented with spectacular mint pence and a bisect cover from Nova Scotia; Newfoundland also offers a bisect cover and a rare two penny pair, both from the 1857 printings, as well as many lots of more affordable imperforates and varieties, and finishes with a Columbia cover.

British Commonwealth is especially strong in Great Britain and Australia. Many of the rarest of the high values and errors from these two are offered in this sale. Of special interest is the Kookaburra Collection which was formed by a decades-long quest to obtain every Stanley Gibbons listed variety of Australia as well as Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and Western Australia. As a result rarities abound, especialy non-Scott listed perforation and watermark varieties. The Worldwide section is diverse and of note are some decent quality high value Italian States.

Postal History is an area where our consignors continue to offer diversity and the unusual. Once again we have hundreds of lots representing all from stampless to modern. Undoubtedly these lots will contain tomorrow's rarities which will in future be on display in great collections.

Lots and Collections are always a big draw during the viewing. This auction will again present a big challenge for viewers. The number of one country collections as well as multi-volume worldwide lots is staggering. And it is not just volume, many lots are specialized and diverse collections. As usual Canada & BNA leads with 94 lots but that lead is challenged by Worldwide multi-country lots with 74 (and to that total could be added continent groupings of Asia, Africa, Europe etc). There are more than seventy different countries represented with one or more collections. After Canada the number of lots by country include Belgium (37) followed by British Commonwealth, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, and Australia (20). LIVE Internet Bidding at StampAuctionNetwork.

Catalog at StampAuctionNetwork Online Images Available Public Auction with LIVE Internet Bidding US Material Worldwide Material Postal History Found in SAN Search Engine Brigham Auctions Ltd. - King George V, Edward VIII & George VI Issues, 1917-1953 - June 13, 2015 These pages contain the smallest sale we have so far put together. It covers the reigns of King George V (minus the Admirals which were in our previous sale), Edward VIII and King George VI (1917-1953).

During this 35-year period there were ten definitive issues and more than twenty commemorative series featuring Kings George V and VI. The emphasis in the building of The Brigham Collection for these issues was put on the important pre-production material, printing and plate varieties and plate number blocks. As no stamps were issued during the reign of Edward VI there are but two lots for this king (333-334). No collection of Canada is complete without a representation of this reign. The paucity of King Edward VIII pre-production material is due to the Post Office Department’s insistence that all work, including die proofs, be destroyed.

Like the Admirals, only a portion of this collection was mounted. As a result, this material was never displayed at philatelic shows and therefore has not been on the market for many years. Many of the items are unique or difficult to acquire. Some of the varieties are in rare positional blocks. This is also the period where the Post Office Department made available full imperforates, vertical imperforates and horizontal ones. The Brigham Collection contains a vast number of these including unique positional plate blocks. For example, lot 73 features a unique vertical imperforate pair with the popular 50¢ Bluenose ‘Man-in-the-Mast‘ variety.

Apart from the 1897 Queen Victoria Jubilee issue this is the only period of Canadian philately that does not have its own handbook.

This sale is an opportunity for collectors of these issues/reigns to acquire much of the elusive material they need to improve or complete their collection.

Please note lots containing 8+ items are sold as-is and are not eligible for return. LIVE Internet Bidding at StampAuctionNetwork.
