StampAuctionNetwork Starter Country Collection Lots and African American Subjects on US Stamps - April 12, 2024 We've created a number of starter country collection lots with low starting bids. This is the best way to start collecting, you can purchase a large number of distinct stamps mostly already identified and placed on album pages. For many of the collection lots, we've included additional blank album pages for you to continue your collection. These can be placed in your own binders. A good suggestion is to accumulate several collection lots, merging them into one and then go after the more valuable stamps separately. As you may notice, this sale has a number of country lots from the continent of Africa. I've also put together a number of United States stamps that feature African American subjects. The United States Postal Service has done a good job honoring African Americans over the years, starting with the high value of the Famous American Educators series where they honored Booker T. Washington. While these stamps are not rare, they are hard to come by, especially complete country collections of Africa Post independence. But don't go crazy on your bidding. The estimates are a good guide unless you are an experienced philatelist and notice that we did not pull any of the better items. This is an auction. I have posted a video here, which will help you understand how to register to place bids. Dynamic Internet Bidding at StampAuctionNetwork.

This may be our most interesting sale for Diabetes yet. In fact, I am going out on a ledge and will suggest that there is a lot for every collector in this sale to support the fight to cure Diabetes. Go ahead and prove me wrong!

This year's ride is supporting the American Diabetes Association's efforts to advance research, education, advocacy, and support for those with diabetes. Click this link to see how I am doing or to give a donation.

2024 marks the 30th year of StampAuctionNetwork, but we started working for stamp auction houses much earlier than that. In fact we met Mr. Kreps in 1990, when the first stamp auction house Michael Rogers started using our stamp auction management system. He was a describer for Michael Rogers at the time. From that point on we would help to bring most of the US and many European auction houses into the digital age by automating their catalog production and building systems for managing their auctions. In order those were, Michael Rogers, Keystone, David G. Phillips, Modern Stamps, Firby, Shreves, Daugherty, Colonial, McCusker, Dale Enterprises, Wolffers, Sam Houston, Lippert's, Barons, Kelleher, Mastro, Lelands, Harmers of London, Harmers of Switzerland, Robert A. Siegel, Hart Davis Hart -- those would be the first 25, we would go on and work with Harmers USA, Manning, Matthew Bennett, and many more. So when we met Mr. Kreps daughter in RTP in my work in the Entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Research Triangle it was a special moment to help with her dads collection. Most of the major items have been consigned to Kelleher and Rogers in their April 23rd auction but his daughter has a connection with Diabetes and so was delighted to have some of the items placed in this sale to raise money for research to cure diabetes.
